At The Unrooted Studio, we have a team of experienced and knowledgeable teachers who are dedicated to helping our clients grow and heal their mind, body, and soul. Each of our teachers brings a unique perspective and approach to their practice, allowing us to offer a wide variety of classes that cater to different needs and interests. Alex Butler
Pilates coach
Alex is a high energy, hard working mom of two beautiful little girls. This former commercial electrician found her love for pilates when adjusting to the mom life. Now her new passion, is sharing that love with others. "Pilates changed my life physically and mentally and I know it can do the same for many others." Her coaching focuses on helping you feel strong, capable and confident in your own body. Alex's focus on form and breath teaches her students how to strengthen their muscles in a safe and effect way.
When Alex isn't coaching, you can find her rescuing animals, taking care of her property and, in the summer, playing baseball.

Johanna Coleman
Yoga Teacher
Johanna began practicing yoga 10 years ago. It was not long before she was hooked, seeing and feeling the benefits of the practice in 2019 Johanna took a 200 hour yoga teacher training.
This just deepen her love for Yoga and two years later Johanna took a 40 hour Restorative Yoga teacher training.
Today, Johanna teaches Vinyasa flow, hatha, yoga, and restorative yoga classes. Her classes are fun, relaxing, spiritual, and you’ll leave feeling refreshed and calm.
When Johanna isn’t at the studio, you’ll find her outside in her garden or on the trails with her dog or riding her horse.
Johanna loves spending time with her family and friends and loves to be in the kitchen, baking or cooking for family and friends.

Chloe Coleman
Sakalya Yoga Teacher
Chloe is the founder of The Unrooted Studio, a space dedicated to fostering connection and growth through yoga and holistic practices. A 200-hour certified Sakalya Yoga teacher, she is also certified in Children’s Yoga, as well as Practical Mudras, Ethereal Mudras, and Mudras of Perpetual Wisdom.
Chloe began her asana practice at 18 and discovered meditation in her mid-twenties. Both yoga and meditation have been integral in her journey, offering tools for healing, grounding, and personal growth. These practices helped her navigate anxiety and find peace, which inspired her to share the transformative power of yoga with others.
At The Unrooted Studio, Chloe blends yogic wisdom passed down to her with the ancient traditions of her European ancestors, pairing them with the cycles of nature and farm life. She offers classes in vinyasa, hatha, kriya yoga, meditation, pranayama, mudras, and mantra, creating a space for healing, balance, and exploration.
When Chloe isn't in the studio she is with her son or animals. Her hobbies include reading, writing, gardening, herbalism and astrology.

Christina Van Der Veen
Yoga Teacher
B Sc. Kin, 200HR RYT
Christina began practicing yoga 10 years ago and found yoga provided so many benefits to her life. As a rehabilitation therapist for over 30 years, working with persons with an acquired brain injury, Christina wanted to share the benefits of yoga with the community she holds dear and completed her 200 hour yoga training in 2018. She has also completed her 30 hour training in accessible yoga in 2019 and 14 hours of training in trauma informed yoga in 2022. Christina finds that whenever she comes to the mat, she leaves the mat improved in health and well being. Christina teaches yoga privately and in the community at a Rehabilitation Centre and in Hospital. Christina enjoys leading hatha yoga, restorative yoga, chair yoga and yoga for chronic pain. Off the mat, you can find Christina working in her gardens, reading a book, walking her dog in the woods or spending time with the people she loves.

Lori Caton
Sakalya Yoga Teacher
Yoga found Lori in 1998, drawing her into its depth through breathwork, energy, and stillness. Years later, she was introduced to Sakalya Yoga at a retreat in Mexico, where she discovered a holistic practice that resonated deeply. This led her to complete her 200-hour Sakalya Yoga teacher training and later visit India, the birthplace of yoga—a life-changing experience that filled her with gratitude.
Lori's classes embrace the 8 limbs of yoga, integrating movement, breath, meditation, and energy to balance softness and strength, stillness and flow. She believes yoga is for every body—regardless of shape, size, or experience—and creates a welcoming space for exploration and growth.
Lori is a certified RYT200 in Sakalya Yoga as well as 50-hour certified in Holistic Yin Yoga training. In addition, she has pursued extensive training in Himalayan Kriya, Sakalya Meditation, Mantra, and Japa Mala, Practical Mudras, Ethereal Mudras, and Mudras of Perpetual Wisdom. She is also certified in Akashic Record reading and Rose Heart Usui Reiki Level 2.
She invites others to practice together—exploring, expanding, and embracing the fullness of yoga.

Rebecca Ferland
Yoga Teacher

Rebecca's journey with yoga began in her teens, but it truly resonated with her in her 40s during the challenges of a divorce. As her mind, body, and spirit struggled and distanced themselves, she explored various wellness practices, yet none provided the profound solace she found within the embrace of yoga. Beyond her spirituality,
Embracing the transformative power of yoga, Rebecca completed her 200-hour teacher training at Atlas Yoga Studio, further deepening her growth. Now, she cherishes the opportunity to share her passion, knowledge, and energy with others on their own paths, guiding them in a nurturing, healthful, and meaningful manner.
